Affiliate relationships can help fund our research and publishing. They do not change the evaluation criteria we publish or remove our responsibility to explain meaningful limitations and tradeoffs.

How we identify commercial relationships

When a page contains affiliate links or is connected to a paid commercial relationship, we aim to disclose that relationship clearly and close to the relevant content.

What a commission means

A commission is compensation paid by a merchant or platform after a qualifying referral or purchase. The amount may vary by partner, product, geography or program.

Editorial method

Our goal is to distinguish evidence from marketing. We may use direct experience, primary documentation, public data and qualified third-party sources. We state material limitations when they affect the recommendation.
