Luxury & Fashion

Designer bags, luxury retail and pre-owned buying decisions researched around use, condition, availability and total value — not just logo recognition.

How we evaluate

Luxury is a high-value purchase, not a popularity contest.

For a luxury purchase, the real decision can include size, material, use case, availability, return policy, condition, resale route and whether buying new or pre-owned makes more sense. We separate product characteristics from retailer economics and from resale-market claims.

Affiliate relationships do not make one retailer or resale platform the editorial winner. When pre-owned products are involved, we describe the merchant's actual authentication/condition process rather than implying an independent guarantee from Proof & Merit.

Research roadmap

Buyer decisions we are building around.

Designer bags

Model vs model

Classic silhouettes compared by size, use case, material and buying route.

Pre-owned

New vs pre-owned

Condition, return policy, authentication process, availability and value tradeoffs.

Retailers

Where to buy

Luxury multi-brand retailers compared by inventory, geography, returns and buyer fit.

Gifting

High-value gift decisions

Luxury gifts organized around recipient, use case and risk of choosing the wrong size/model.

Commercial standard

Retailer commission stays separate from the recommendation.

Proof & Merit may earn commission from approved luxury retailers or resale platforms. Commercial relationships are disclosed, and paid placements are visually/editorially separated from independent buying guidance.

We do not present ourselves as an authorized retailer or representative of a luxury brand unless that relationship has been expressly approved.
